Gutter guards are one of the most cost-effective upgrades you can make to a Canberra home. A quality mesh system blocks leaves, seed pods, and twigs from entering your gutters, reduces the frequency of cleaning from twice a year down to once every two or three, and - critically for ACT homes near bushland - keeps embers out during summer fire risk periods. They also stop birds, rodents, and possums from nesting in gutters and roof cavities, which is a far bigger problem in Canberra suburbs than most people realise.

Not all gutter guards are equal. Foam inserts and plastic clip-on grids fail within a few years - they degrade in UV, sag under leaf weight, and trap moisture against your gutter, accelerating rust. We install proper aluminium and steel mesh systems, fixed mechanically, with appropriate flashing under the tile or sheet line. The mesh sizing matters too: too coarse and seed pods still get through, too fine and water sheets over the top instead of draining in.

That means we look at the whole roof line during installation - flashings, ridge caps, fascia condition - and call out anything that needs attention before the mesh goes on. Once mesh is installed it is a much bigger job to lift it for repairs, so we do the prep properly the first time.
